Opal Irene Pate, 84, of Jacksonville, IL and formerly of Meredosia, IL died Friday, June 19, 2009, at Prairie Village Healthcare Center in Jacksonville.
She was born February 6, 1925, near Hersman, the daughter of Ferris and Florence DeWitt Stapleton.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Jean Pearson of Kentucky, Linda Joyce (husband, C.O.) Mueller of Bluffs and Carol Joan (husband, Matthew) McLain of Springfield; twelve grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Allen and Karen Kay Brackett; and one sister, Helen Marie Grady.
Ms. Pate worked in the housekeeping department at Passavant Hospital for several years. She loved any kind of frog collectibles and enjoyed going to yard sales.
