Onofrio Gadaleta, 97, of Holiday City South section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at home. Born in Molfetta, Italy, he lived in Lyndhurst, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. in 1996. Onofrio was a Supervisor at Seton Leather Co. in Newark, NJ, retiring in 1986 after working there for 27 years.
He served in the Italian Navy and the Italian Merchant Marines. Onofrio was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Toms River. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Josephine (nee DeVincenzo); his children Carmela Oliver and her husband Virgil of PA, Johanna Leone and her husband Dominick of Toms River, NJ, Robert Gadaleta and his wife Debra of Toms River, six grandchildren Raymond Oliver, Nicholas Leone and his wife Katrina, Onofrio Leone and his wife Jeannine, Cristina Okal and her husband Joseph, Robert Gadaleta, Nicole Gadaleta and five great grandchildren Austyn, Kruze and Pierce Leone, Emma Leone and Greyson Okal.
