Muncie – Oma V. Handley passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011, at her daughter’s residence following an extended illness.
Oma was born in Warren the daughter of William Hugh and Clara Alice (Wiles) Rayburn, and attended MuncieCentralHigh School.
Mrs. Handley co-owned H. and H. Sandwich shop with her husband for over seventeen years. She was a lifetime member of Women of the Moose Chapter #712.
Survivors include a daughter, Saundra Swain, (husband-Monte), Gaston; two sisters, Sarah Cox, Muncie and Wanda Ruth Harvey, Richmond; a grandson, Jeffrey A. White, Muncie; a granddaughter, Nancy C. White, Muncie; a great-grandson, Robert D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 61 years, Russell “Bill” Handley; a daughter, Virginia Oma Handley; and three sisters, Helen Heddens, Betty Warford, and Johanna Chambers.
