Oliver Earl Huntington was born March 23, 1924 in Colome, South Dakota. His parents moved to Rapid City, South Dakota in 1930. He was raised and attended school in Rapid City. In 1941 he met Maxine Elizabeth Hermanson in high school. They were married on September 23, 1946. After Maxine graduated from nursing school, they moved to Gooding, Idaho in 1946 and returned to Rapid City in 1948. Before retiring in 1987, Earl worked in Business Management for 41 years. Maxine retired from nursing in 1984. Upon retirement, they moved to Langhorne, Pennsylvania, to be near their oldest daughter, Debby Hornickle. In 1986, they moved to Port Charlotte, Florida where they enjoyed crafting art work in stained glass. Their talent for building a large variety of stained glass art objects including lamps, windows, picture frames, wall hangings, etc. was phenomenal. Earl and Maxine enjoyed the weather and relaxed atmosphere of Port Charlotte and stayed until 2004 right after a close call with Hurricane Charlie. In December, 2004 they moved to Boise, Idaho to be near their oldest son, Michael Huntington. Earl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine, four brothers, Donald, Bob, Boyd, and Lonn, five children, Debby (Ernie) Hornickle (Langhorne, PA), Michael (Sandy) Huntington (Boise), Rick (Lynn) Huntington (Camarillo, CA), Deanne Doan (Magnolia, NJ), Pat (Barb) Huntington (Elko, NV), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
