Odiest Hill Beavers, Jr, 68, passed away on November 8, 2021 at his home in Salisbury after a long battle with COPD and cancer.
He was born September, 21 1953 in Dallas, TX, the son of Odiest Sr and Bessie (née Davis), and later became the beloved stepson of Clifford C. Trexler.
Odiest was a 1971 graduate of East Rowan High School and a US Army veteran. He is remembered as a kind-hearted, loyal, loving man who supported his family and enjoyed taking care of them. He was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. His hobbies included amateur radio, playing guitar and gardening. He will be sorely missed by all those who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marie Short Beavers; son Travis Hill Beavers and his wife Abi; daughter Destinee Marie Beavers. Sister Ina; brothers Curtis and John; brother-in-law John M. Short III and his wife Sandy, as well as nieces, nephews, and those he considered family.
