William Taylor Sparkman, III (W.T.), 86, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on August 15, 2022. He was born on February 26, 1936, in Pascagoula to the late William Taylor (Jr.) and Florence (Grant) Sparkman.
W.T. is survived by his children Mary Beth Sparkman of Pascagoula, Julie Rogers of Fairhope, AL, Paige Ditsworth (Dale) of Pascagoula and William Taylor (Bill) Sparkman, IV (Becky) of Gautier, MS. He leaves to cherish wonderful memories of their Paw Paw to his grandchildren Erin Yarger (Andrew), Adam Sparkman, Jordan Shotts (Stan), Jacob Rogers, Sara Snyder (Phillip), Amy Ditsworth, Haleigh Sparkman, Lakyn Sparkman and his great grandchildren Jon Taylor, Mary Paige, Cecilia and Joseph Yarger, John Curtis Shotts, Sadie and Ryleigh Sparkman. He is also survived by his sisters Florence Thompson and Carolyn Hammock and brother-in-law Arlis Gray. W.T. is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Daisy Ed Wiggins Sparkman, his infant daughter Mary Sparkman, his grandson Drew Gilbert, his sister Elma Ruth Gray, his brother and sister in laws Mitchell Thompson, Bill Hammock, Dr. Daniel Enger and Irene Enger, Julius and Trudy Wiggins.
W.T. retired from New York Life Insurance Company after 40 years of service. He was a lifelong devoted member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. He served as a lector, parish council member and numerous roles. He was also a 1954 graduate of Our Lady of Victories Catholic School and later became a long-time member and President of the O.L.V. school board. W.T. was so proud of the school and the six generations of family that have attended O.L.V. and currently attending Resurrection Catholic School. W.T. was always the life of the party. He loved getting together with family and friends, working in the yard, playing golf, Three Musketeers candy bars and fixing just about anything. His faith and belief that God would reunite he and Daisy Ed, along with praying the rosary daily got him through this past year without her. His love for God and the kindness that he showed to everyone leaves a lasting impact on all that knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
The family would like to thank Kare-In-Home Health for their loving care. Especially Caroline, Christy, Rachel, John Paul, Cassie, Shirley, Shanna, Laura and Cheryl. We would also like to thank Brenda McDonald for taking such good care of W.T.
