Obituary for William 'Slim' Omdahl

William “Slim” Omdahl, 83, of rural Warren, MN, passed away on Saturday morning, November 28, 2009 at his home.

William was born on December 11, 1925 in rural Warren, the son of Olaus and Bella (Hanson) Omdahl. He attended country school and the Crookston AC. William served in the US Army during World War II and he was stationed in Saipan. After his discharge, he returned to rural Warren. On September 29, 1951, he married Donna Martin of Oslo, MN. They made their home in rural Warren where he was a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of the Warren American Legion Post #27 and former member of the Warren Rod and Gun Club.

Slim was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Slim also enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels and taking drives to watch wildlife.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Donna; three children, Larry Omdahl of Rugby, ND, Wayne Omdahl of Warren, MN and Peggy Omdahl (Jeff McHam) of Strandquist, MN; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eldor (Stella) Omdahl of Warren, MN and Luther Omdahl of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Ruth Omundson of Roseville, MN and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Alvin, Walter, Olaf and Robert and three sisters, Mabel, Esther and Hazel.
