Obituary
Wilfred Hakenewerth passed away on January 9, 2019 at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Teresa E. Hakenewerth nee Boehle; He is survived by his two sons, Tom (Coletta) Hakenewerth of Dutzow, MO, Richard (Betty) Hakenewerth of Wentzville, MO; two daughters, Joyce (Chuck) Hunsel of Wentzville, MO, Betty (Dennis) Schalk of Wentzville, MO; brother, Father Quentin Hakenewerth (Society of Mary) of Queretaro, Mexico; 8, grandchildren; 14, great-grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Hakenewerth, mother, Minnie Hakenewerth nee Burkemper, brother, Herbert Hakenewerth, brother, Bernard Hakenewerth. Willie and Teresa were married on April 15, 1950 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Dardenne, Missouri. He worked the family farm in Moscow Mills, Missouri until 1963 when he took a position as an IBM key punch operator for Liberty Loan in Clayton, Missouri. He ended his working career with the Buy-Rite IGA Grocery store in Wentzville, Missouri being employed there for more than 30 years. Willie was a life-long member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and a Third-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud member of the United Food and Commercial Worker’s International Union. Willie was always a man of great faith and it showed through in everything he did as a devoted husband, father and friend. He was a farmer at heart and truly enjoyed his plot of land at the farm. He loved to laugh, go bowling, Chet Atkins, daily mass and a daily glass of wine. He will be missed so much by all who knew and loved him.
