Virgil Ray Riley of Grand Bay, Al passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the age of 84.
Virgil was born in Kemper County, MS on November 14, 1938 to George and Grace Riley. He met and married Anita Hall on May 5, 1961 and together they raised four children, Janis, Gina, Rachel and Don in Moss Point, MS. He worked for many years in construction with Chicago Bridge and Iron and retired after 38 years of service. But, he, being a hard worker and not a man of idleness went from retirement to farming. His natural love for the outdoors was obvious to all those around as he spent many hours working the property by four-wheeler, tractor or just walking the land. He was a longtime member of Grand Bay Church of Christ. What a blessing his was to his family and his presence will be greatly missed.
Virgil was the last of seven children. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by Henry Riley, Webb Riley, Billy Riley, Deb Riley, Isabel Ward, and Imogene Casey.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anita Riley of Grand Bay, AL; children Janis Riley Bordelon ( Dan) of Madisonville, LA, Gina Coleman (Danny) , Rachel Riley Noble (Matt), and Don Riley (Judith Clark-Riley all of Grand Bay, Al.; grandchildren, Ryan Coleman, Katelyn Coleman , Marshall Catchot, Aeryan Catchot, Lauren Bordelon, Donny Riley and Ethan Riley.
