Vena G. (nee Kaiser) Romine, 90, of Steelville, MO passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, MO. She was born January 27, 1919 in Owensville, Indiana to Edward Ernest Kaiser and Ella Lampkins Kaiser. Vena was united in marriage to Dwight Romine who preceded her in death.
She will be sadly missed by her two step-sons, Ron Romine of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jim Romine of Portland, Indiana; one step-grandson, Jason Romine; fourteen nieces and nephews, Cecil Kaiser, Theresa Kelley, Jerry Kaiser, Dennis Kaiser, Lois Richardson, Brent Kaiser, Lisa Kaiser, Dean Wymer, Diane Morhaus, Melvin Isgrig, Neil Isgrig, Donna Isgrig, Keeven Isgrig and Alan Isgrig; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; one brother, Cletus Kaiser and wife Nellie; two sisters, Gladys Isgrig and husband Guy and Frieda Hibler and husband Ralph.
Vena graduated from Steelville High School and afterwards attended and graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia.
Vena was a school teacher in the public schools and started her teaching career in Crawford County. She retired in 1978 from the Indiana School System.
In her spare time, she loved to travel and was an avid reader.
She was a very generous person to her family and supported Fairview Baptist Church and numerous charities faithfully.
