Terry Lamar Moudy was born on October 3, 1955, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS, and entered into eternal rest following a brief illness at the age of 65 on March 11, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Terry was preceded in death by his loving parents, James Mathias and Emma Jewel (Moss) Moudy; his sister-in-law, Ruth Moudy; and his brother-in-law, Randy Parker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 34 years, Katie Rux Moudy, of Leesburg, MS; his amazing sons, Ted (Teressa) Moudy, of Leesburg and Jeremy (Mollye) Moudy, of Kosciusko, MS; his wonderful grandchildren: Dylan Moudy of Clinton, MS; Trey (Brealand) West of Richland, MS; Kaylee Moudy of Leesburg; and Meredith and Rhett Moudy of Kosciusko; his brothers: James (Sarah) Moudy of Raymond, MS; Bobbie (Betty) Moudy and Billy (Flora) Moudy of Florence, MS; and Boe (Robin) Moudy of Seminary, MS; his sisters, JoeAnn (Billy) Parker of Canton, MS, and Nancy (Danny) Powell of Magee, MS; his Rux family; many nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; other loved ones and friends.
Throughout the years, Terry enjoyed working with people and was a very talented and skilled carpenter.
Though we may never fully understand why Terry left us too soon, we know that he loved the Lord, his family, and his friends. His passing has left a huge void in the lives he touched. Lives that were once filled with his smile, his laughter, his voice, his hugs, and his love. Matthew 5:4 assures us that, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” May we all find peace and comfort in knowing that Terry is in Heaven with loved ones who have gone before him and in knowing he will be watching over all of us until we are together again one day. Until that day comes, he is so loved and so missed by so many and will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts.
