Steve McGlynn Sr., 88, of Stephen, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, September 13, 2009 at Kittson Memorial Nursing Home in Hallock, MN.
Steve McGlynn Sr. was born on February 13, 1921 in Parker Township, Marshall County, MN, the son of Henry and Emma (Lefebvre) McGlynn. He attended country school. On January 14, 1941, he was united in marriage to Gerri McFarland in Stephen. They lived and farmed in Fork and Parker Townships of Marshall County. Steve and Gerri spent the winters in Florida until the early 2000’s. He retired from farming when he was 80. They moved to Stephen in 2004. Gerri died on December 2, 2007.
Steve and Gerri had a great love for horses and participated in many area parades.
Left to mourn his passing are son, Neil (Roberta) McGlynn of Stephen, MN and their children, Steve (Melanie) McGlynn and David (Alana) McGlynn all of Stephen, MN and Ryan (Cheryl) McGlynn of Grand Forks, ND; son, Brian McGlynn of Colorado and his children, Tracy (Cal) Jackson and Jason (Leslie) McGlynn all of Grand Junction, CO and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerri; brother, Dale and two sisters, Claire Zimmer and Lorraine Thibodo.
