Stella Marie Pung, age 71, of Westphalia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born September 16, 1950 in Lansing, the daughter of Leon and Mary (Schmitt) Spitzley. Stella was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved going to garage sales and taking road trips, especially to the Mackinac Bridge. Her biggest joy was caring for little children and being with her family. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Spitzley; brothers-in-law, Leon “Buddy” Pung and Eugene Gross; in-laws, Joseph and Dora Pung; sister-in-law, Theresa (Edward) Wedly. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Vern; children, Sara Pung and Craig Pung; siblings, John Spitzley, Mary Lee (Mark) Schafer, Marvin (Jeanette) Spitzley, Dorothy Pung, Ron (Teresa) Spitzley, Fr. Denis Spitzley, Geri Gross, Delbert (Sue) Spitzley, Francis (Linda) Spitzley, Br. Bernie Spitzley SVD, Mark (Sheryl) Spitzley, Rita (Mike) Owen and Luke (Shelly) Spitzley; Pung in-laws, Joanie (Bill) Mattila, Ann Marie (Phillip) Schafer, Donna (Ken) Weber and Paul (Cheryl) Pung; special friend, Jeannie Schroeder; and many nieces and nephews.
