PHIPPSBURG – Sherry Dawn Alexander, age 79 passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 after a brief stay at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Medway, ME on August 4, 1937 the daughter of Freddy Hersom and Beatrice L. Hersom.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Lendall D. Alexander, Sr., Brother Frederick J. Hersom, Sr. and his wife Sally of Bath; daughter Debbie Grisham and husband Doyle of Fairview TN; son Lendall Alexander, Jr. and his wife Yvette of Cundys Harbor; son Terry Alexander and wife Kathy of Cundy’s Harbor, daughter April McKenney and husband Jimmy of Phippsburg; And grandchildren Michelle Morton of Dickson TN, Arthur Morton, Jr. of Salt Lake City UT, Duane Alexander of Cundys Harbor, Jordan Hartley and husband Drew of Brunswick, Levi Alexander’s wife Abby of Harpswell, Zachery McKenney and Haley Archer of Phippsburg and Cody Alexander and Cameron Gilliam of Woolwich; And great grandchildren, Chelsey Bledsoe and husband Drew of Fairview TN and Tristan Morton of Fairview TN, Justin McKenney of Phippsburg, Kaden Wilkerson, Bridger Wilkerson & Paisley Wilkerson of Salt Lake City UT; And great-great grandchildren Brayden Johnson, Waverly Bledsoe and Nolan Bledsoe of Fairview TN. & several nieces & nephews.

She is predeceased by daughter Lynn Ann Alexander and grandson Levi Alexander; great granddaughter, Elena Lee Alexander; father Freddy Hersom,and mother Beatrice L. Hersom; brothers John Smith, Eugene Hersom, Ronald Hersom, Conrad Hersom and Gordon Hersom; sisters Arlene Grover, Agatha Lyons, Leatrice Craney, Lorraine “Spike” Stilphen and Donna Wallace.

Sherry was a devout mother first, a wonderful wife, the best Nanny in the world and a beautiful woman that was filled with grace. She loved children….She was kind & loving with a sweet spirit that loved everybody unconditionally and everybody loved her.

She loved music….singing, playing guitar and recording in her son-in-law Doyle’s recording studio in Nashville TN. She loved big band, country, pop and jazz music.

But most of all, she loved her family and spent her time cooking, cleaning and making her home feel like a home.

Rest in peace….We love you very much and will miss you every day of our lives!
