Ruth Parker Linnell, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, died peacefully November 29, 2015 surrounded by the love of her family at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine. Ruth, 87, was born in Caribou, Maine on November 11, 1928 the youngest child, and only daughter of Roy D. Parker and Etta Collins Parker. She spent her childhood on their potato farm in Aroostook County, graduated from Caribou High School in 1946 and married Robert W. Linnell June 28, 1948. In 1972 Ruth and her family moved to Denmark, Maine, to the farm of Bob’s grandmother. She was the loving caretaker of her mother for 15 years. After Bob retired, she and Bob spent winters in Florida, driving south for 15 years. Ruth was an active member of the Denmark Congregational Church and held several positions in the Eastern Star Mt. Moriah #6. She is survived by daughter Ann, son-in-law Stephen Arsenault, daughter Jane, son-in-law Roger Audet, and son David. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her, including Kelly and Jacob Perry; Jessica Audet and Brendan Sheehan; Nicholas Audet; Melanie, Brian and Aaliyah Swenson ; Cynthia Arsenault; Megan, Nick, and Lucas Stilwell; Michael and Mallory Arsenault; Jim and Diane Linnell; Samantha Linnell; Heather and Tim Koster; and numerous others. Ruth was predeceased 7 weeks by Robert her husband of 68 years. Also by brothers Philip and Max, and many nieces, brothers and sisters-in-law. Ruth was very proud of being a homemaker, wife, grandmother and mother.
