Ronald Eugene Cottrell of High Ridge, Missouri, formerly of Dillard, MO, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 74 years, 1 month and 27 days. He was born April 23, 1939 in Steelville, Missouri to Earl Esco Cottrell and Lena Webb Cottrell.
Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. For the last few years he owned and operated a metal coating business in St. Louis. Ron was a member of the Elks Club in St. Louis.
He will be sadly missed by his one son, Christopher Ronald Cottrell and wife Tori of St. Louis, MO; and one daughter, Malinda Lane Spurgeon and husband James of High Ridge, MO; one brother, William Cottrell of St. Clair, MO; one sister, Rilma Mash of St. James, MO; one sister-in-law, Alline Cottrell of Sullivan, MO; seven grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Burton, Roy, Vencil and Midford Cottrell; and four sisters, Wilma Crabtree, Helen Robinson, Lois Barton and Norma Hogan.
The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Jim Cottrell, Nick Spurgeon, T.J. Plopper, Jake Howdeshell, Joe Howdeshell, Dale Cottrell, David Cottrell and Jeff Cottrell.
