Robert Lee Crabtree Sr., 72, of Afton, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 7, 2007 at Jefferson Barracks Veterans hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Bob was born June 17, 1935 in Courtois, Missouri, the son of Orville and Lucille Agnes Payne. Bob was married to Regina Neumann in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two sons and one daughter were born. Those left to mourn his passing are his sons, Robert “Bob”. Crabtree Jr. and wife Karen of Festus, Missouri and Mark A. Crabtree and wife Priscilla of Tacoma, Washington; and one daughter, Sheri Lynn Simpson-Scott and husband Yoman Scott of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Robert Lee Crabtree III, Kimberly Anne Crabtree, Andrew Crabtree, Chase Simpson, Julia Scott, and Major Scott. Bob was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Crabtree and two sisters, Doris Gaddy and Betty Crabtree.
Bob had been a supervisor in electronic manufacturing in St. Louis. He had served in the U. S. Army from 1958 to May 1960. Bob loved to hunt, fish, but most of all his first love was for dirt stock car racing. He loved to attend dirt races all over the Midwest with his friends. For many years, Bob kept a large map of the U.S. on the wall and could always tell where or how far you could drive in one day. When Bob Jr. or family were on vacation, they would call and Bob could tell them within a few miles of where they where at any given time. Bob will be missed by his children, grandchildren and many friends.
