Richard Elwood Domeyer of Salem, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Salem Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. He was born September 2, 1925 in Rock Falls, IL to Carl Peter Domeyer and Juanita Wike Domeyer. In 1947 in Moline, IL, he was united in marriage to Janice Guldenzopf and to this union four children were born. After the death of his wife, Rick married Opal Marie Haas Bennett December 26, 1986 in Salem, MO.
Rick is survived by his wife Opal Bennett Domeyer of Salem, MO; two sons, Fred Rick “Terry” Domeyer of Houston, TX, Chris Domeyer and wife Carol of Salem, MO; two daughters, Jeannie Gustafson and husband Kurt of West Bend, WI and Marnie Palmerin of Perris, CA; two step-sons, Bill Bennett and wife Liz of Steelville, MO and Gary Bennett and wife Beth of Springfield, MO; one step-daughter, Joyce Jones of Salem, MO; one brother, Donald Keith Domeyer of Arizona City, AZ; four grandchildren, Kurt and wife Michelle, Karen, Tyler and Cody; five step-grandchildren, Ross and wife Nicole, Brandon and wife Ashlee, Lane and fiance’ Kate, Aaron and wife Sarah and Samantha; great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice; and one grand-daughter, Jana.
The Family received friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Salem, MO.
