Richard Alan Stowell, 78, of Gray, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born on February 9, 1937 in Cumberland, Maine where he spent most of his childhood, with the exception of a few years his family spent in Aroostook County.
Richard was pre-deceased by their infant son Ricky. His mother Belna (Burnell) Libby and father Freeman E. Stowell . He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Beverly (Doughty) Stowell; his three daughters, Pamela Lindner and Robert Emerson of Gray, ME; Julie Spencer and Michael of Auburn, NH; and Susan Covens and William of Falmouth, ME; and a son Richard Stowell Jr and Lorrie of Mechanicsville, MD; also his brother Ralph Stowell and Ulla of Standish, ME. Survivors include his eight grandchildren, Karen, Benjamin, Andrew, Timothy, Christopher, Maxwell, Storm and Jade; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Seaside Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness throughout Richard’s stay and for their support in his final days.
