Age 81, loving son of Dr. Joseph and Esther (nee Braman) both deceased, dearly beloved husband of 55 years to Esther (nee Haack), loving father of Carolyn (Bill) McConnell, Barbara Anne, and Raffee D. II (JoAnn), and dearest grandfather of Andrew, Will, Amelia, Danny, Riley, Karli, and Matthew. Mr. Johns was a 1947 graduate of Ionia High School and 1951 graduate of the University of Michigan where he was a drummer in the marching band. A life long Wolverine fan and former president of the Cleveland Chapter of the Alumni Association. Korean War Veteran US Army 516 Signal Corps. He worked for General Motors Parade of Progress. Later he became involved with the restoration of Futurliner #10 which is on display at NATMUS in Auburn, Indiana. He worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for thirty-five years. He loved to drive and had been to all 50 states. He never passed up a roadside historical marker. He also traveled to all the Canadian provinces, the Panama Canal and many foreign countries. He spent his retirement summering at Morrison Lake.
