Windham- Paul E. White, Sr., 72, passed away in Portland on March 12, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born in Portland on November 9, 1940, a son of James Henry and Marion (Neales) White. He was raised in Portland and attended Portland schools. Paul was a hard worker, working most of his life from a young age until he retired from Lilly Transport (Nissen’s bakery) in 2002. He has been a resident of Windham for over 40 years. Paul was a devoted husband, a wonderful father to four sons and the greatest papa anyone could ask for. He took great pride in hard work and providing a good life for his family. He is leaving behind a great companion, his late wife’s cocker spaniel, Shadow, who lived up to his name by never leaving his side.
He was pre-deceased by his wife in 2011, whom he married on November 6, 1964, Mary Jo White; brother, James White; three sisters, Mary Rose Brackley, Lorraine King and Catherine Fredenburg.
He is survived by his brother, Leo White and his wife Linda of Gray; sisters, Patricia Nute and her husband Emery Jr. of Scarborough, Elizabeth St. Laurant of Chicopee, MA; brother in-law, John Lane of Saco; sister in-law, Noreen White of Buxton; four sons, Robert Waterhouse of Derby, CT, James Waterhouse and his wife Laura of New Gloucester, Paul White Jr. and his wife Shelia of Old Orchard Beach, David White Sr. of Windham; nine grandchildren, Bethany Waterhouse-Bradley and husband Michael of Ireland, Ann-Marie Waterhouse of Kittery, Timothy Waterhouse, Samantha Waterhouse, Tyler Waterhouse of New Gloucester, Danielle Waterhouse-Martin of Berwick, Breanna White and Gabrielle White of Old Orchard Beach, David White Jr. of Saco; four great-grandchildren, Jack and Connor Martin of Berwick, Milo and Astrid Bradley of Ireland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
