NEW ALBANY- Pastor Luther Charles Barker, 74, was born in Union County, Mississippi on January 4, 1943 to the late L.C. Barker and O’Kattie Barker. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at North MIssissippi Medical Center, Tupelo, Mississippi. Affectionately known as “Chuck” or “Bubba”, he was educated in the New Albany, MS school system, attending B.F. Ford School. He was a United States Army Veteran, with two years of service. Pastor Barker was the founder and Pastor of New Unity Christian Church from 2008 until 2015. He later pastored Union Grove Baptist Church until his demise.
