Elder Troy Reed Starks, 75, transitioned on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Diversicare, in Ripley, MS.

A Time to Be Born:  Troy R. Starks was born July 1, 1947, to the late Jodie and Florine Starks.  He was a native of Tippah County.  Troy loved the great outdoors and meeting new faces.

A Time to Speak:  Troy accepted Christ and joined Flatwood Grove Church of the Living God.  He had a gift and passion for music.  He was known for his talents of playing and teaching others, to play the guitar.

A time to Rest:  Troy quietly entered into eternal rest with the Lord, on Friday, December 2, 2022.

On September 5, 1969, he married Carolyn Chills, and to this union four children were born.

Troy was a hard worker.  He was employed with Biltrite Factory for over 30 years.  He loved his family and provided for them faithfully.  He Pastored Wilson Chapel Church of the Living God, in New Albany, MS, for over 30 years.

On December 26, 2015, Troy married Bessie Malone.

Troy leaves behind to cherish his memories.  His wife Bessie Starks of Oxford, MS; daughters Anita (Walter) Morgan, Linda Starks both of Ripley, MS and Peggy Starks of Tupelo, MS; son Andrew (Childred) Starks of Tupelo, MS, stepson Altonio Jones of Oxford, MS; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; siblings Joan Alexander, Bobbie Rutherford, Betty Hatch, Evon Cox Graham, Wiley (Freedia) C. Starks, all of Ripley, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Troy is preceded in death by his parents, Jodie and Florine Starks, sisters Glenda Dye, Martha Grace Starks, Edna Mae Batie, and Martha Jean Alexander.
