James “Orin” Biggs of Steelville, Missouri was born in Max, Missouri on June 27, 1929 to James Everett and Johnnie Mae (Ball) Biggs and passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 20 days. On March 14, 1950, he married Clarinda Agness Price and to this union one son and three daughters were born.
Orin worked at Ford Steel Company in Maryland Heights, Missouri from 1946 to 1991. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953 and served in Korea during his enlistment. After he retired, he enjoyed woodworking and made many projects for several people. He always enjoyed being on his tractor and just “piddling.” He was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and family.
He attended Victory Baptist Church at Cherryville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Everett and Johnnie Mae Biggs; his mother and father in-law, Esli Edward and Hala Mae Price; his brother, Gail E. Biggs; sisters, Lorene Butts and husband Vondel and infant sister, Margerite Biggs; sister in-law, Vernice Richardson, brothers in-law, Norris Eaton, Donald Price, Vondel Butts and Bill Richardson; son in-law, Corwin Hart; and two great-grandchildren, Madilynn Kelley and Kadyn Clancy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of sixty-four years, Clarinda Biggs; one son, Dennis Biggs and wife Pam of Ballwin, MO; three daughters, Brenda Koerner and husband Jeff of Loveland, OH, Beverly Kelley and husband Wane of Overland, MO and Donna Hart of O’Fallon, MO; twelve grandchildren, Jesse Biggs and wife Emily, Ashley Streeter and husband Shawn, Justin Biggs, Jacob Biggs, Beth Schmitt, Eric Clancy, Jeremiah Kelley and wife Cherish, Heather Kelley, Valerie Kelley, Dave Hart, Patrick Hart and Jared Hart and wife Erin; six great-grandchildren, Kiera Streeter, Rhiannon Biggs, Kalyn Clancy, Trinty Clancy, Ethan Schmitt and Wyatt Kelley; two brothers, Kenneth Biggs and wife Anna Mae of Overland, MO and Daniel Biggs and wife Carlena of Salem, MO; sisters in-law, Diane Eaton of St. Johns, MO, Delores Graham and husband Jim of Denver, CO, Tresa Abney of Popular Bluff, MO and Sue Biggs of Cuba, MO; nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Jesse Biggs, Jacob Biggs, Justin Biggs, Dave Hart, Patrick Hart, Jared Hart and Jeremiah Kelley.
