With her loving family by her side, her Lord and Savior took his beloved child, Nell Kruger, to be with him in heaven on Friday, March 5, 2010.

Nell (Cheney – Horgen) Kruger was born October 29, 1926, the daughter of George D. and Frances (Gorsuch) Cheney in rural Warren, MN (Farley Township, Polk County). She was a lifetime resident of the Warren area.

She graduated from Warren High School in 1944. She also took teacher training from the teacher training department of WHS.

She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and was a Sunday school teacher and very active in the Ladies Aid. She was an organizer of the TOPS Club in Warren and achieved KOPS status for many years. She also was a life long member of the Busy Bee Homemakers.

On March 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Horgen at McCrea Lutheran Church. To this union three children were born, Arthur Horgen, Frances Odell and Kristie Beatty. Lloyd passed away May 12, 1990.

Nell loved to bake for family and friends.

On May 23, 1991, she was united in marriage to Neil Kruger at Grace United Methodist Church. They lived on his farm in Alma Township in the summer months and Mesa, AZ in the winter months. In 2002, they moved into their Warren home for summer months and to their Mesa home for winter months.

She is survived by son, Arthur (Donna) Horgen of Knoxville, IA; two daughters, Frances Odell of Wyoming, MN and Kristie (Jerry) Beatty of Caneyville, KY; eight grandchildren, Robert (Rose) Odell Jr., Ian (Erin) Odell, Emily (Paul) Skaggs, Nathan (Dana) Beatty, Barb (Anthony) Hoffmann, Brian Bunten, Amy Dougherty, Dr. Carol Bunten (Dr. Daniel Rosenberg); sisters-in-law, Helen Peterson of Thief River Falls, MN, Audrey Cheney of East Grand Forks, MN, Marlys Hopke of Waite Park, MN and Nancy (James) Olson of Glenwood, MN and brother-in-law, Jerry (Ginny) Kruger of Warren, MN. She also leaves to mourn several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lloyd Horgen; brother, Chuck Cheney; one grandson and one granddaughter.
