Myrtle Halvorson passed away on Monday, January 5, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, Minnesota at the age of 92.
Myrtle Evelyn Kleven was born on November 10, 1911 in Webster, North Dakota, the daughter of Ole G. and Torbjorg (Heggar) Kleven. She was raised in Webster where she attended school. On June 25, 1938, she was united in marriage to Allard Halvorson. They made their home in Stephen, Minnesota. She worked at Hvidsten Potato warehouse for over twenty years.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church (Myrtle taught Sunday School for many years) and the Stephen American Legion Auxiliary. In 1988, she was named Stephen Outstanding Senior Citizen and also Marshall County Outstanding Senior Citizen.
Left to mourn her passing her daughters, Delores (Ted) Koland of Pelican Rapids, MN and Bonnie Jean (Ken) Boe of Glenwood, MN. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Teddi (Stan) Zierke of Pelican Rapids, MN, Debbi (Peter) Restad of Pelican Rapids, MN, Keith (Heidi) Koland of Maple Grove, MN, Tamara (Tom) Bevans of St. Cloud, MN and Barrett (Val Rae) Boe of Starbuck, MN and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a granddaughter, Bonnie, parents, four sisters and five brothers.
