She was born on September 26, 1945 to the late Tilmon and Virginia Stephens in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of the United House of Prayer Church under the leadership of Bishop Henry M. Finley until her demise. Lynnie was united in holy matrimony to William Garner on March 8, 1964 and to this union two children were born.
