Cloria Thompson entered into this world on December 12th, 1931 in Byhalia, Mississippi as the result of the union between the late David Taylor Sr. and Nancy Rodman. She was the youngest of 15 children, all who preceded her in death. There was Louis, Benny, Alberta, Roberta, Robert, OD, Henrietta, Easter, Mattic, Ovel, Olivia, James, Rose and Roosevelt. The Taylor family is now whole again. Her two oldest children Sylvester “Mickey” Atlas Thompson & Darryl Lynn Thompson preceded her in death in 2021.

In 1954, she graduated from Mary Holmes Junior College in West Point, Mississippi where she played on the basketball team, which set in stone her love of watching NBA & College basketball. While in college, she secretly received an engagement ring and letter in the mail from Kemite Thompson, whom she met years earlier when her brother, and Kemite’s friend, Robert Taylor gave her a ride to the hairdresser as they were on their way to trade school. They married on August 5, and relocated to Cleveland, OH. Four children were born to this loving union of more than 55 years, until he transitioned in 2009.

Cloria accepted Christ at an early age, and later joined the New Bethlehem Baptist Church in the late 1950’s where she served relentlessly with the church day care, and many many ministries. She was always there to volunteer and keep everyone laughing. She was always bringing home another kid who wanted to spend the night at Sis. Thompson’s house.

She worked a few small jobs to keep busy while the children were in school, but her primary job was master homemaker. She supported her husband and family in every endeavor, while also maintaining lifelong friendships with almost everyone she met. She never met a stranger. She was on many bowling leagues throughout her life, and even won the title in 2019 with her senior bowling league (at 87 years old & after 2 surgeries). She would fish for hours until no bait was left, most recently May 2022, when she caught around 25 fish.
