Mr. Walter L. Griffin, 59, transitioned Tuesday, July 19, 2022, Alliance Health Care, Holly Springs, MS.

Walter Louis Griffin was born August 19, 1962 to the late Garthenia Scales Griffin and James Walter Griffin in Oxford, MS.

Walter departed this physical life on Tuesday July 19, 2022.

Walter attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and went on to graduate from Holly Springs High School “Holly High.”  In 1980, Walter attended Northwest Community College in Senatobia, MS where he received a certificate in Auto Mechanics. 

As a young adult, Walter loved operating heavy machinery to help build highways across the country.  Walter also loved hunting, fishing, cooking, and most of all, “hanging” with his family and friends.  He will be remembered forever for his kind and generous heart, as well as his unique set of hustling skills.

Walter leaves to cherish his legacy one lovely daughter: Cameshia (Nathaniel) Martin, of Olive Branch, MS, four beautiful granddaughters, Kacelyn, Kylah, Kensley and Kapri Martin all of Olive Branch, MS; two lovely step-grandaughters: NaKia and NaKirya Martin of Holly Springs, MS; twelve brothers: James Griffin of Memphis, TN, Madison (Donna) Griffin of Montgomery, IL, Larry Griffin of Aurora, IL, Willie (Tammy) Griffin of Aurora, IL, Henry (Lora) Tuggles of Batavia, IL, James Tuggles, Felix Tuggles, Larry Tuggles all of Aurora, IL, Harry (Lisa) Tuggles of Joliet, IL, Louis Tuggles of Memphis, TN, Nickey Tuggles and Kenneth Tuggles of Holly Springs, MS; eight sisters: Barbara Pool of Memphis, TN, Juliatte (Billy) Perry of Jackson, TN, Mona Lisa Griffin of Holly Springs, MS, Vera Prentiss of Sugar Grove, IL, Dorothy Jones, Carolyn Tuggles of Aurora, IL, Lucindy (Huce) McNeal of Memphis, TN, Lizzie (James) Moore of Holly Springs, MS; a special bonus mom, Juanita Waller and a beautiful host of nieces, nephews, close cousins, and many more family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his biological father, Henry Franklin Tuggles; three brothers: Lenwood Jones, Donnell Echols and Joseph Tuggles; one sister Deborah Griffin-Porter and niece LaTonia Pool Johnson.
