Melvin “Mel” Andrew Russell of Davisville, Missouri passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at his home at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 12 days. Mel was born May 20, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Delbert Russell and Helen Hammers.
He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion of the Davisville Post. Mel worked as a Deputy Sheriff for ten years, as a truck driver and at Voss Truck Stop for several years. He always enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles and also drawing and reading in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Russell of Davisville, MO; one daughter, Cara Jean Yocom-Russell of Springfield, MO; two sons, James Russell of Fort Wayne, IN and Kevin Russell of PA; three brothers, Rick Russell of Spring, TX, Mike and Sam Russell of Fredericktown, MO; two stepbrothers, Clay Busby of Aurora, CO and Jimmy Lee; one step-sister, Rita Lee; step-mother, Marsha Russell of Fredericktown, MO; two brothers-in-law, Steve Yocom and wife Heidi and Mike Yocom all of Davisville, MO; grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
