Mary “Jane” Loretta Salo, 87, of Makinen, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the Waterview Pines in Virginia.
Jane was born on October 10, 1935 in Sparta, to Hannah (Alstrom) and Oscar Gulbranson. She graduated from Gilbert High School in 1953. Jane married Warren (Bob) Salo in February 1954, and they raised their family in Biwabik, Hutter, and Makinen.
She was preceded in death by son, Dale; her parents; sister, Vi (Dick) Erchul; brothers, Gubby (Joyce), Arvid, and Dennis; in laws, Alfred and Alma Salo; sister in law, Marge (Dave) Anderson; and brothers in law: Marlow, Jerry, Tom (Donna), Elmore, and Milton.
Jane is survived by her husband, Bob; children, Audrey (Al) Peterson, Dave (Debbie) Salo and Trudy (Chris) Bertucci; grandchildren: Melissa Salo, Stacey (Cam) Loberg, Denise Salo (Randy), and Wade Peterson (Nancy); great grandchildren: Cooper and Lexi, Hailey, Zane (Darion), and Caleb; great great granddaughters, Penelope and Florence; sisters in law, Dorla Salo and Joan Salo; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
