Mary Donarski, 77, Fisher, MN, formerly of Viking, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2009 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN.

Mary Ann Johnson was born on Sept. 3, 1931 in Fosston, MN, the daughter of Victor and Tilda (Tenneson) Johnson. She was raised in the Strandquist, MN area and she graduated from Strandquist High School. Mary married Conrad Donarski on Sept. 6, 1949. They lived most of their married lives in Foldahl Twp. where they farmed and raised cattle. Mary worked for twelve years at Old Mill State Park, eight years at Northern Pride and at Digi-Key. They moved to Fisher in 2003. Conrad died on July 7, 2005.

She was active at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she served on the church council, taught religious education and was a lector.

Mary was an avid quilter and gardener and an excellent cook. She loved the outdoors and 4-wheeling and playing scrabble, cards and bingo.

Left to mourn her passing are seven sons, Conrad Jr. (Alice) of Oceanside, CA, Tom (Carol) of Loganville, GA, Ken (Kathi Ricci) Murray, UT, Arnold (Sherry) of Argyle, MN, Rick (Ruth) of Stone Mountain, GA, Daniel (DeAnn) of Eldred, MN and Don of Crookston, MN; three daughters, Wanda (Arden) Borst of Grand Forks, ND, Lynnet (Jim) Hanawalt of Monticello, MN and Judy (Rodney) Bernat of Fisher, MN; twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Janice (Edmund) Borowicz of Strandquist, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Conrad; granddaughter, Nicole Donarski; daughter-in-law, Sandy and three brothers, Joseph, Willard and Ted.
