Age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was born on November 27, 1921 in Westphalia, MI the daughter of Michael and Regina (Feldpausch) Schmitz. Mrs. Platte was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Marjory enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing cards, geneology, stamp collections, and also enjoyed the outdoors. Preceding her in death were her husband, Francis; son-in-law, Hadyn. Surviving are her children, Monica Rupp, Sister Ruth Platte of Sisters of the Living Word, Mike (Sue) Platte, Lenore (Irv) Gerling, Karen Keilen, Gary (Helena) Platte, Linda (Roger) Luna, and Dave (Linda “Lump”) Platte; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brothers, Edward (Joan) Schmitz, and Mike (Hilda) Schmitz; sisters, Jeanette Thelen, Wilma Bambrick, Alice Hoover, and Gertrude (Jerome) Schafer.
