Margaret Stafslien, 85, of Warren, MN, passed away on Monday morning, February 9, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.

Margaret Mary Wilson was born on April 25, 1923 in St. Hilaire, MN, the daughter of Alvina and Lawrence Wilson. They moved to Warren in 1929 and Margaret graduated from Warren High School in 1941. Margaret married Clifford Stafslien in Georgia in 1943. They moved to Warren after the war ended. They had two sons. Margaret worked at the Mary May Shop which she eventually purchased and operated until she retired. Clifford died on July 18, 1988.

She loved her town and was the first woman Chamber of Commerce president and was honored by being the Woman of the Year in 1979. Margaret was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was a senior high Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Margaret had many hobbies including sewing (she made many prom and wedding dresses), gardening, writing and reading poetry and quilting.

Left to mourn her passing are two daughters-in-law, Barbara Stafslien of Garberville, CA and Cynthia Stafslien of Garberville, CA; eight grand children; fourteen great-grandchildren: two sisters, JoAnn Clark of Eagen, MN and Patricia (James) Bjorgaard of Warren, MN; brother, Bob (Sunny) Wilson of Tumwater, WA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Tim and John; sister, Betty Vansickle and brother, Vance Wilson.
