Margaret I. Marvin, 89, of Warroad, MN, died on Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Roseau Area Hospital. Margaret was born on November 18, 1917, in Two Harbors, MN, the daughter of Gottfrid “Fred” and Hilda (Mattson) Wallin. She graduated from Virginia High School, Virginia Jr. College and, in 1939, from Macalester College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. That fall she began teaching English and Latin at Warroad High School.
Margaret was united in marriage to Wm. S. “Bill” Marvin on March 22, 1941. She is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Frank (Margaret) Marvin, Warroad; Margaret “Peggy” (Sam) Johnson, Warroad; John “Jake” Marvin, Warroad; George (Mary) Marvin, Warroad; Susan Marvin, Warroad/Minneapolis; and Robert (Loralee) Marvin, Warroad; grandchildren, Virginia, Daniel, Paul, William, Catherine, Sarah, Jeffrey, Paula, John, Brooke, Mark, James, Desiree, Christine, Victoria, Stephanie, Angela and 20 great grandchildren; a brother, Ray Wallin, Virginia, MN; and a sister, Helen Tscholl, Minneapolis.
Margaret enjoyed a rich and rewarding life as a wife, mother, educator and leader in the Warroad community. She was a life-long, active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
