Marcia Young Baumhauer passed away April 5, 2023, at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her husband Emile M. Baumhauer, Jr. M.D. Marcia was born in Canton, MS. Marcia attended school in Canton and was Salutatorian for the class of 1948. Her freshman year of college was spent at Mississippi State College for Women (The W). She then transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi where she majored in Music Education and was a member of Alpha Zeta chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda. Marcia was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She graduated with honors and taught school in Pascagoula and Moss Point. She enjoyed participating in such activities as Mobile Opera Guild, was a charter member of Pascagoula Civic Guild, a charter and life member and former president of Pascagoula-Moss Point Junior Auxiliary, Pilgrimage Garden Club, and long-time member of the Pascagoula Historical Preservation Commission Marcia will be greatly missed by family and friends. Marcia was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she taught Sunday school, served on the Vestry and the Altar Guild. She loved her church and supported all areas of its ministry with great devotion to the Lord. She enjoyed making alter linens and banners for the Guild of the Christ Child. She sang in the choir and was very active in Bible study. She was a 43 year member of the Daughters of the King, a group dedicated to daily prayer and service. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Charles Young and Madelyn Coleman Young, one sister Jean Young Vinson, and brother-in-law, Euell M. Vinson, Col U.S. Army.

She is survived by her children Chris (Sheila) Baumhauer of Corte Madera, CA, Suzanne (Kim) Kimbrough of Independence, MO, Bill (Stacey) Baumhauer of Pascagoula, MS, and Sallie (Jeff) Noblin of Ocean Springs, MS. Grandchildren Madelyn (Andrew) Kimbrough Butler, Kathleen (Adam) Kimbrough Shields, Sam, James and Blake Noblin, Dr. Ashley (Costa) Kell, Clare and Will Baumhauer. Great Grandchildren Coleman and Jackson Butler, Jim and Abigail Shields.
