Marc, our “shooting star” in life, died peacefully with Paul Alme his husband and partner of 21 years at his side. Preceded in death by his father Kenneth Swanson. Survived by Paul and Marc’s mother, Eloise Swanson of Little Canada, MN, sister Michele Swanson of Falcon Heights, MN, nieces Micaela Rodriguez of Maplewood, MN, Taylor Baldwin of Rochester, MN, Katherine Baldwin of Moorhead, MN, Lauren Potter of Fargo, ND, nephew Benjamin Williams of Fargo, ND, and many, many friends.
Born and raised on the East Side of St. Paul, Marc graduated from Harding High School in 1977 and then attended St. Cloud State University. He lived and breathed real estate, owned his own catering business, and traveled the world.
Marc was a lifelong advocate for gay rights and championed AIDS/HIV research.A loyal friend, gourmet cook, and welcoming host, his impromptu happy hours, dinner parties, infectious laugh, and risqué stories will be greatly missed.
