Mae Josephine Gorman, age 105, died peacefully Feb. 8, 2010 at Marshall Manor Good Samaritan Home in Warren, MN. Mae was born June 25, 1904, in Oslo, MN. She was the youngest daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Sherlock and grew up on the family’s homestead on the North Dakota side of the Red River.

Mae Sherlock was married to John Gorman on Nov. 24, 1952 and they moved to Viking, where they farmed until his death on May 22, 1956. For many years she worked as a priest’s housekeeper in Argyle, Warroad, and other parishes. She enjoyed sewing,
tatting, crocheting and gardening.

Mae is survived by one nephew, James Sherlock of Oslo, MN, one niece, Philomena Berry of Katy, TX and many great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Gorman, her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Sherlock, and all eight of her brothers and sisters: MaryAnn, Catherine, John, James, Raphael, Ambrose, and Andrew Sherlock, and Margaret McCullough.
