Lucille Proffer, nee Abney, of Cuba, MO passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Missouri Bapitst Medical Center in St. Louis at the age of eighty-one years. She was born November 17, 1930 in Huzzah, Missouri to Earl Abney and Mabel Bays Abney. She was united in marriage to Herbert Proffer on August 20, 1955 in St. Louis, MO and he passed away December 19, 2009.
Lucille was of the Baptist faith. For many years, she enjoyed camping with her family, driving through the Huzzah area and watching comedies on T.V. But most of all, she loved being with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her ten children Jackie Kirkendall and husband Butch of Maplewood, Missouri, Sharon Langdon of Fenton, MO, JoAnn Moore of Breckenridge Hills, Missouri, Karen Heibenstriet and husband Paul of Dallas, Texas, Barb Ort, Chuck Proffer and Steve Proffer and wife Lisa all of Cuba, Missouri, Kim Dreyer and husband Carlin of Affton, Missouri, David Proffer and Lisa Copling both of Cuba, Missouri; one brother Richard Abney and wife Libby of Bourbon, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert; one sister Erma Jean Allen; and one grandson Scott Kirkendall.
The Family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honored to be casket bearers were Chris Barton, Corey Barton, Brad Ray, John Stuart, Mark Hebenstreit, Brad Bell, Mark Palmar and Denny Pollard.
