Woolwich – Lloyd E Durrell, 85, of Pine Street, Woolwich, died Sept 8th, 2017 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.  He fought a courageous battle with heart disease for many years.  He was born in Augusta, Maine on March 20, 1932, the son of John E & Marion V. (Nichols) Durrell. 

He attended Morse High School, leaving school at an early age, Lloyd joined the National Guard for 2 years.  In 1951 he served in the United States Army and reenlisted in 1953 in the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 4 more years.  After his tour of duty with the military, Lloyd went to work for Bath Iron Works as a fabricator, retiring 42 years later.

Lloyd was an avid outdoorsman, he hunted & fished for many years and also traveled extensively.  He also had spent many years taking care of his wonderful plant and flower gardens.

He was predeceased by his siblings; Velda Wilkins, Lorraine Douglas, Jane Arsenault, Ronald Page, David Durrell & Stanley Durrell.

He leaves behind his wife Patricia Durrell of Woolwich; 4 children, Rose Durrell of Virginia, John Durrell & Bianca Daugherty of Virginia, Paul Durrell & Lisa Bennett of Woolwich & John Stuart and his wife Michelle of West Bath; 8 grandchildren, Stacey, Julian, Erin, Erika, Corey, John II, Rachel, Kevin & 4 great grandchildren, Joel II, Eleanora, Eliana & Andrew; 2 sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
