Linda Marie Paulsen, age 63 of Duluth died Saturday, January 30, 2010 in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She was born October 24, 1946 in Duluth, the daughter of Alvin and Gladys (Anderson) Pekkarinen. Linda was a 1964 graduate of Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School and the Eveleth Vocational Technical College. She married Bill Paulsen on November 11, 1972 in Virginia. Linda began her banking career at the First National Bank of Eveleth, which became Norwest Bank. In 1970 she transferred to the Duluth Norwest Banks and completed her 37 years in the banking industry. Linda had a servant’s heart and spent over seven years committed to volunteering at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She served on various volunteer boards at SMDC and was a current Family Surgical Waiting Room Volunteer. Linda had a passion for water, sun, and beaches. She was especially fond of the sun and sand in the warmer climes and summers spent on Crane Lake. Linda also enjoyed reading and traveling.
Linda is survived by her husband: Bill; mother: Gladys Pekkarinen of Markham; siblings: Karen (Michael) Secola of Britt, and Ronald Pekkarinen of Markham; sisters-in-law: Sandi (Terry) Brusacoram of Mayer, MN, Barbara (Butch) Pariseau of Eveleth, and Georgeann (David) Berg of Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father: Alvin Pekkarinen; and father & mother–in-law: Bud and Dorothy Paulsen.
