Lila Ignaszewski, 72, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Lila Mavis Foss was born on August 3, 1937 in Greenbush, MN, the daughter of Anton and Amanda (Qualley) Foss. She graduated from Strandquist High School in 1955. On June 19, 1955, Lila married Daniel J. Kostrzewski. They made their home in Argyle. Daniel died on June 5, 1983. She married Tony Ignaszewski on February 15, 1992 and they lived in Argyle. Tony died on August 14, 2002. Lila owned the True Value Hardware store in Argyle for several years and also worked at Gary’s Bakery in Warren, MN and Cash Systems Inc. in Thief River Falls, MN until retiring in 2006.
She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and Argyle American Legion Auxiliary where she was a past president.
Left to mourn her passing are six children, Diane (Ken) Pawlowski of Argyle, MN, Linda (Donnie) Hamrick of Warren, MN, DeWayne (Debbie) Kostrzewski of Warren, MN, Delores (Dick) Guillemette of Argyle, MN, Jeff (Cheryl) Kostrzewski of Crookston, MN and Shelly (Paul) Hlucny of Wannaska, MN; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Alton (Donna) Foss of Foley, MN; two brothers-in-law, August (Jewel) Kostrzewski of Argyle, MN and Norbert Ignaszewski of Stephen, MN; four sisters-in-law, Angie (Steve) Adamski of Florian, MN, Helen (Edmund) Pietruszewski of Stephen, MN, Loretta (Al) Goblirsch of Plymouth, MN and Mable Foss and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Daniel and Tony; infant grandson, Joey and brothers, Raymond, Alvin, Orville and an infant brother.
