Kenneth Poolman, 78, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, November 8, 2015 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.

Kenneth was born on December 6, 1936 in rural Warren, the son of Ernest and Caroline (Diedrich) Poolman. He was raised in rural Warren and he graduated from Warren High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Verona Ulrich on July 16, 1968 at the William Ulrich home. They made their home in Warren where he drove school bus for 52 years (1955 – 2007) and started farming with his father after he graduated from high school until 1990. After he retired from farming, he continued working for area farmers and he also drove beet truck for 42 years. In 1996, Kenny and Verona built a new home on the farm in rural Warren. Kenny moved to Valley Eldercare in the summer of 2007 and he enjoyed his time spent there.

He was a very active member of his community where he was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, McCrea 4-H for 11 years (Junior leader for 2 years), Warren Sno-Cat Club, Riverside Golf Club, Lions Club and the Warren Bowling Association where Kenny served as Secretary-Treasurer for 36 years and attended several national tournaments.  Kenny also served on the Warren City Council for several years.

Kenny was very proud of and loved all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed farming of any kind, watching TV, gardening, walking, playing cards and watching sports, especially his children and grandchildren.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Verona of Warren, MN; children, Daniel (JoDell) Poolman of Warren, MN, Christine (Stephen) Beals of Roseau, MN, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Poolman of Baudette, MN and Mark (LeAnne) Poolman of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Rebecca (John) LaBine, Michael (Kelly) Poolman, Anika (Justin) Olson, Tasha (Josh) Wilhelm, Austin Paulson, Sammie Hudgens, Chelsea (Nathan) Bush, Kyle Poolman, Allyssa Poolman, Nathan Poolman, Tucker Poolman, Colton Poolman and Mason Poolman; great-granddaughters, Lilly Olson, Lauren Olson, Eden Wilhelm, FosterKay Hudgens, Mya LaBine and Ashtyn LaBine, great-grandsons, Thatcher Olson, Dietrich Olson, Derek Wilhelm and Landon LaBine; sister, Alvina (Odee) Hendrickson of Willmar, MN, brothers-in-law, Don Holy of East Grand Forks, MN, Stan Ulrich of Buzzard Bay, MA, Vernon (Susan) Ulrich of McCall, ID, Carl Ulrich of Soldatona, AK; sisters-in-law, Yvonne (David) Seaberg of Detroit Lakes, MN, Naomi (Curtis) Elton of Boise, ID, Iris (Marvin) Johnson of Detroit Lakes, MN and Carol Ulrich of Trenton, CO and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Javan Paulson; great-grandchildren, Devin Duckstad and Hosea Wilhelm; brother, John; sister, Bernice Holy; brothers-in-law, Wayne Ulrich, Alton Ulrich, Melvin Ulrich and Harold Wallace and sisters-in-law, Elaine Ulrich, Irene Ulrich, Hazel Ulrich and Dorothy Wallace.
