Julius William Platte, 89 of Portland, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather went to heaven on October 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Julius was born September 15, 1933, the son of Bernard and Mary (Gross) Platte. Julius served in the United States Army after graduating from high school. He began his career as an electrical lineman with the Village of Portland, later moving to work at Tri-County Electric until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, the Spartans, Tigers, Lions and lending his auctioneering skills to several charities throughout the years. He served several years on the Portland Township Board. Julius was devoted to his family and always ready to help those in need.
Julius was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, son, Herbert, daughter, Jill, granddaughter Amber and great grandson Gunner. Julius is survived by children; Judy (Jay), Tim (Amy), Ben (Diane), Ted (Betsy); 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; brothers, sister, nieces and nephews.
