Joy Elaine Sherd – November 17, 1934 to December 6, 2021
Joy was born November 17, 1934 to Ward and Jessie Carlback. She attended Ionia High School where she graduated valedictorian of her class.
Joy married Ronald Sherd Sr. and they settled in Ionia where together they had two children; Ronald Jr. and Brenda. Joy spent most of her life working as a medical transcriptionist for Dr. Buck and Ionia County Memorial Hospital. They lived in the home they built together in Ionia where their children were raised. Joy then moved to Grand Island, NE in 2016 where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Joy will be dearly missed by her children, Ronald Jr. and Nancy Sherd and Brenda and Doug Bourne; her grandchildren, Kara and Chris, Kelcey and Drew, Jamie and Taylor, Tina, and David; her great-grandchildren, Ezra, Harlow, Rowan, and Hogan; and her beloved dog, Bella.
