When living was at a slower pace than we know today, an exciting event occurred in the home of Julius and Lelia Spicer McCain on September 18, 1938.  After the birth of one son, JC McCain, and three girls, Kathryn, Betty Joyce and Eddie Faye a baby boy was born.  John Thomas McCain was born near midnight in the home.  All the girls loved dolls but none had a living doll until he was born.  He was a sweet and loving doll and was that way until he was grown.  He attended Pascagoula Schools until he completed tenth grade and changed to Texas schools when his parents moved.  Soon after he was 18 years old, he joined the U.S. Navy.  After the Navy, he came home and met and married Jeanette Woodson.  They had three children, Todd, Bryan (Dolanda) and Melinda (Tracy) Lathan and 14 grandchildren:  Kerria Emery, Joe Ayers, Kenny McCain, Gabrielle McCain, Corbin McCain, Dana McCain Bates, Britne Goss, Cohlbe Goss, Brylon Goss, Lindsey Pitts, Brandon Lathan, Clint (Callie) Simms, Lauren (Michael) Adams and Linn Simms.

John worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding and always worked on cars and did home repairs as side-line jobs.  He was preceded in death by Jeanette, his son, Todd, his quadruplet grandchildren, his parents and his brother, JC.  After Jeanette’s death he married Kathy and inherited another son, Kelley Felton (Sheryll) and three more grandchildren.  He and Kathy had more than ten happy years together.  John was loved in life by his family and extended family and a multitude of relatives and friends.  He started his file as one who was easy to love and never changed.

On Sunday, October 10, 2021 following a short illness and surrounded by his family, John left this world to be loved, far greater than even we could love him.
