John Mitchell Crow, age 36, of Pascagoula, MS, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. John was born in Starkville, MS to Voncile Crow on February 24, 1986.
John lived in Starkville up until 3 years ago when he moved to the gulf coast. He had a strong love for the beach and the outdoors. John was always athletic, playing volleyball in Meridian and Jackson, MS, as well as playing in the NOLA softball league.
John loved his family, and had a special connection with his great niece, McKinley Winfield. He loved to help people. He started his college career in the medical field at OCHRMC studying to be an ER Tech. He later worked as a Casting Tech, a Phlebotomist, and lastly as an EMT. John was a volunteer fire fighter at Maben Fire Department, further serving his community.
John will be greatly missed and his absence will be felt by all his loving family and friends.
John is preceded in death by this grandfather, John L. Shurden (Starkville, MS); and grandmother, Joyce Shurden (Starkville, MS).
He is survived by his mother, Voncile Crow of Pascagoula, MS; sister, Andrea (Jo) Winfield of Pascagoula, MS; niece, Richie Winfield; nephews, Joey Thrasher of Starkville, MS, Cruz Winfield of Starkville, MS, Dustin Snyder of Pascagoula, MS, and Hunter Dendy of Pascagoula, MS; aunt, Yvonne (Brant) Winfield; uncle, Dale (Barbara) Shurden; and a host of friends and other family members.
