John “Jack” Ziegemeier passed away on March 21, 2019 at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband of Betty Ziegemeier nee Vehige of St. Paul, Missouri; He is survived by his children, Lori Orf and husband Wayne of St. Paul, MO, Gina Hoffman of O’Fallon, MO, Paula Goodman and husband Lou of O’Fallon, MO, David Ziegemeier of St. Paul, MO, Kurt Ziegemeier and wife Paula of O’Fallon, MO, Holly Willis and husband Tony of Foristell, MO; brother, Raymond Ziegemeier and wife Diane of St. Peters, MO; two sister-in-laws, Arlene Ziegemeier and Joyce Ziegemeier; 24, grandchildren; 31, great-grandchildren; 1, great-great grandchild; Numerous nieces, nephews and friends; He is preceded in death by his father, John Ziegemeier, mother, Cornelia Ziegemeier nee Obrecht, brothers, Lester, James, Donald and Gerald Ziegemeier, son-in-law, Brian Weinreis, grandson, Joseph Wayne Orf. Jack proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He played minor league ball for the St. Louis Browns and the Philadelphia Phillies. After that, he played for the East Missouri Baseball Association. He is in the St. Charles Hall of Fame and also the St. Louis Hall of Fame. He was a manager for the men’s St. Peter’s team for 15 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul, Missouri. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, St. Paul, MO, Carpenters Local 1987 and American Legion Post 313, St. Peters, Missouri. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
