Mr. Joel Gary Armstrong, age 47, native of Jackson County, MS  passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at his home after a long and vigilant battle with cancer. He was born October 8, 1974 in Pascagoula, MS. Joel was a master electrician who worked over 15 years in the field. Joel was a super intelligent man who could figure out just about anything. He was also a very talented musician who was self taught to read music and played the guitar and the drums in an exceptional manner. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who loved and cared for him. The family would like to extend our deepest heart felt gratitude to his wife, Tammy Armstrong, for caring for our son and brother during this time of need.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Jackson) Armstrong; daughter, Hayden;  mother, Judith (Landrum) Wise of Lucedale, Ms: brothers, Robert Armstrong, Jr: John Daley and wife Rochelle, James Daley and Marc Bachman; sisters, Stacey Tarr Bradley, Stephanie Fendlason, Shannon Senseney and her husband Shawn, Suzanne Weindel and her husband Chris. Aunts and Uncles Brenda Landrum, Steve and Rosemary Landrum, Shirley Bartlett, and Diane Hudson. Many nieces, nephews, several great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and O’bera Armstrong; maternal grandparents, James (Slim) and Bertha Landrum; father, Robert W. Armstrong, Sr; step father, James Wise, sisters, Kristina King and Kimberely Heidel;  brother Jody Lee Tarr; nephews, Steven and Jonathan Gregory; sister-in-law, Annette Armstrong;  uncles, James (Pat) Landrum and Bill Hudson
