Isabelle Jean Gardner Millette of Pascagoula, MS passed away on November 4, 2022 at the age of 81.

Isabelle arrived on October 25, 1941 in Pascagoula just a few weeks before the attack on Pearl Harbor to the late, William “Bill” Thomas and Mary Catherine Green Gardner. At the age of 3 she was taught to read and this desire for education carried her through 13 years at OLV Catholic School where she was a 1959 honor graduate and served as secretary to the Dean of Fine arts at Ole Miss. She married William “Bill” Gorman Millette on December 28, 1963. Within ten years this union produced seven beautiful children. Isabelle high energy and mind for business still made time to work as a secretary at the Chamber of Commerce and Brumfield family. She was also involved in the community Singing River Art Association, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, OLV PTA, Mobile Opera Guild Governing Board, Pascagoula-Moss Point Junior Auxiliary Board, Pas-Point Little Theatre. Mrs. Millette also wrote and had many published articles both, personal and civic related over the years. She was involved in Renovation and preservation of the history and buildings of Jackson County as well as new construction and growth of the community.

Although reading and writing were still among her favorite past time, Mrs. Milllette also enjoyed playing golf, cooking, gardening, party planning, music, films, traveling, dining with friends and family, beaches, sunsets and all things coastal. With all these passions it is obvious her love for writing, art, heritage, community ran deep in this native Pascagoulian.

She is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Millette after 58 years of marriage, and her brother William “Billy” Gardner.
